Fly Badminton Club originated as a small parks and recreation program. With great support and coaching, our program quickly grew to an established community of competitive players who excel at this sport. Now, we’re Connecticut’s first dedicated badminton facility open to all levels of players.
The right facility makes all the difference in developing players. Nikki Vered, the founder of Fly Badminton Club, wanted to create training opportunities for athletes that weren’t available to him in his early career. His motivation helped shape a space where players of all levels can grow, train, and reach their full potential in a safe space.
Nikki started playing badminton at 10 years old and started professional training practice at 14. Playing open play sessions with local Connecticut and North Eastern clubs, Nikki quickly climbed the junior ranks and solidified himself as one of the top junior players in the country. At 20 years old, Nikki was accepted to be on the USA National Team and be a resident athlete at the Colorado Springs Olympic Training Center, and soon after, the Lake Placid Training Center. During his time competing, Nikki was able to receive coaching from some of the world's best and play against players from the top countries.
He now takes his experiences as a player to help coach badminton and has been doing so for the past 15 years. He has produced multiple junior national and Pan American champions and is striving to build a competitive program here in Connecticut with his facility, Fly Badminton Club.
